About the collection

Games that
bring us together.

Guru Cards is a growing card-game reference in six languages. An unfamiliar deck or a new set of rules should be an invitation to play.

How the collection works

The directory contains 196 games and 196 detailed guides in six languages. Each guide identifies its selected ruleset and includes diagrams and examples. The collection continues to grow and does not claim to list every card game.

How we prepare the text

We write original explanations, compare sources and identify variants and optional agreements. Drafts are AI-assisted; that does not replace review by someone who plays the game. Specialist editorial review of this first version is still pending.

We do not invent authors, playing experience or review histories. Overviews are not labelled as complete rules. Duration and difficulty are estimates, not guarantees.

Cookies and privacy

Guru Cards asks for the same choice everywhere, including Europe. Optional analytics relies on your consent. Google Analytics 4 is loaded through Google Tag Manager only after you agree; neither service is contacted before permission. Analytics measures page views, guide printing, browser and device information and approximate location. We remove search queries and fragments from the page addresses sent to analytics. Advertising, Google signals, automatic user-provided data collection and enhanced measurement are disabled.

What is stored

Choice record: guru-cards-consent-v2 in localStorage, stored by Guru Cards for 180 days from your decision. This is browser storage, not a cookie. Acceptance and rejection have the same duration. An earlier refusal is respected until its original expiry.
Analytics cookies: _ga and _ga_* distinguish browsers and keep session state. Provider: Google; set on this website’s domain. We configure a maximum lifetime of 180 days without extending it on each page visit. Technical request data is also processed by Google when analytics is enabled.

Change or withdraw your choice at any time using Cookie settings in the footer. Turning analytics off stops collection, removes this site’s Google Analytics cookies and reloads the page if needed. Withdrawal does not undo earlier processing. The site works without analytics and, if JavaScript is disabled, no analytics is loaded. Clearing browser storage may make the banner appear again.
